Buy New and Save!
From a ten year warranty to lower day-to-day running costs, here’s how choosing a new-build Strongvox home can help keep your bank balance healthy and save energy, too.
We often think that buying something brand new will cost a premium, but at Strongvox, buying a new home can actually save you money in the long run.
Guarantees and additional warranties provided by Strongvox and leading industry specialists protect you from any nasty financial surprises for up to ten years after you’ve invested in your new home.
Of particular significance in the current economic climate, new-build homes are also more energy efficient than older properties, resulting in lower energy bills and greener credentials.
Other advantages include:
- No requirement for the most expensive survey when you buy.
- Low maintenance cost as everything is new.
- Lower insurance premiums due to higher levels of home security.
- In certain circumstances, being able to customise the final details of your home during build phase, avoiding costly updating of an older property.
Energy-efficient homes designed for energy-conscious owners
At Strongvox, our energy-conscious home design can help new homeowners realise long-term savings in multiple ways. From heating and insulation to EV charging points, Strongvox is building energy-efficient homes with a smaller carbon footprint.
Our “sold-out” Somerset development at Russet Copse, Sandford, featured a number of homes with solar panels1 and our exciting, newly released Vista development in Stoke Fleming is the first to showcase air source heat pumps as standard.
Vista is the stunning modern Strongvox development of 20 homes in the beautiful South Hams village of Stoke Fleming. Only a stone’s throw from Dartmouth, the first homes have just been released for purchase with Marchand Petit estate agents.
A great example of energy-conscious design, all the homes here offer the following energy-efficient features as standard:
Cavity wall and loft insulation installed to Premier Guarantee standards
Almost 60% of all heat is lost through the walls and roof of an un-insulated house². Choosing a well insulated home is a key factor when looking to save energy and cut heating costs.
Air source heat pump heating and hot water systems
Heat pump technology is more energy efficient than conventional heating systems. An air source heat pump captures heat from outside (even when it’s cold) and moves it into your home. It uses electricity to do this, but the heat energy delivered to your home is much more than the electrical energy used to power the system. 1.5 million heat pumps were installed across Europe in 2020 alone and in the UK they are being increasingly adopted in order to reach our Net Zero targets. Read more about how they work here.
Double-glazed aluminium windows
Energy-efficient double-glazing has multiple benefits. It reduces heat loss through windows and means fewer draughts, cold spots and less condensation. It also helps reduce external noise.
Thermostatically controlled radiators and heated towel rails
Downstairs and upstairs thermostats, plus radiators with thermostatic valves enable you to easily regulate the temperate in every room. Heating can be turned off completely in rooms not being used. Dual fuel towel rails in bathrooms are integrated with the central heating during the colder months but have an electric override so they can also be used when the main heating is switched off.
A+ white goods
The inclusion of A+ rated kitchen white goods also helps reduce energy consumption.
Electrical vehicle charging point
Our homes come with a 7kW electric vehicle charger installed in the garage, ready for use. These will fully charge a vehicle in around six hours, depending on the vehicle type.
Energy Performance Certificate
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a standardised document, similar to the multi-coloured sticker on new appliances, which details how energy efficient a property is. With a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient), it tells you how costly it will be to heat and light the property and what the carbon dioxide emissions are likely to be. Government figures on EPCs issued in 2021 revealed that over 80% of new homes had either an A or B rating, compared with only 4% of existing properties.
When we remain mindful of our energy consumption on a daily basis, these Strongvox design features will certainly help keep your energy costs down and you’ll leave a smaller carbon footprint. What’s not to love…!
Peace of Mind Guarantees
In addition to the many energy-related savings associated with the purchase of a new home, there are ‘peace of mind’ benefits from the new-build guarantees and warranties provided by Strongvox. This cover is included in the purchase price and avoids the risk of unexpected outlays when things go wrong with older properties.
Strongvox Home Warranty
Strongvox provides a two-year warranty with each new home and undertakes to deal with any necessary and agreed repairs as speedily and efficiently as possible.
Premier Guarantee
Every home we build is independently surveyed during its construction by Premier Guarantee. This ten-year New Build Warranty will protect you from the unlikely event of a structural defect.
